Singapore, 21 January 2013 – In partnership with leading global luxury cognac brand Rémy Martin, Marina Bay Sands played host to Rémy Martin Centaur Dance Showdown Finals at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre Hall C on Friday, 18 January 2013. More than 2,500 people turned up for this exciting dance competition as well as a special mini-concert showcase by Rémy Martin Celebrity Spokesperson and International Superstar, Jolin Tsai. S.I.N.E. Crew from Vietnam emerged victor and danced away with the grand title of “Asia’s Ultimate Urban Dance Crew” and a cash prize of US$10,000.

The atmosphere at the event was electrifying as members of the media, invited guests and the public were all pumped up for an evening of dance excitement and celebrity glamour. Amongst the list of celebrities who attended included Singapore’s Beam Artistes May Wan, Choy Wan, Keagan Kang, Julian Low, Perfect 98.7FM DJ Rosalyn Lee, Thai actress and singer Yaya Ying, Malaysia’s professional dancer and choreographer Maple Loo and India’s renowned choreographer Swarupraj Medara.

As the drinks of the night, which included Rémy Martin V.S.O.P., Piper Heidsieck and SKYY Vodka, flowed freely, Rémy Martin Centaur Dance Showdown was kicked off by the Ringmaster of the finals, Dominic Lau, who took to the stage to introduce the six dance crews and the esteemed panel of judges.
The six competing dance crews were The Zoo Thailand (Thailand), Katoon Network (Malaysia), Team Swarup (India), KRUMPinoy (The Philippines), S.I.N.E. Crew (Vietnam) and Radikal Forze (Singapore).

The judging panel comprised of Rémy Martin Celebrity Spokesperson and International Superstar Jolin Tsai, Vietnamese singer-superstar Ho Ngoc Ha, Japanese breakdance artist Katsuyuki Ishikawa, and Singaporean hip hop artist Sheikh Haikel.

The dance competition saw each dance crew performing a three-minute choreographed routine as well as a battle round where the dance crews, two at a time, pitted their dance skills and stage presence against each other.

After the dance competition rounds were completed, the highly-anticipated performance by Jolin Tsai got everyone up on their feet as they surged to the front of the stage. Ever the consummate and captivating artiste, Jolin performed four of her hit numbers - 美人计, 大艺术, 倒带, 舞娘, wearing a bright red tube dress and an outer-corset lighted up with her fans cheering on and singing along to her songs.

The night ended on a high note as S.I.N.E. Crew from Vietnam were crowned the winner of US$10,000 and the title of “Asia’s Ultimate Urban Dance Crew”

In addition to the grand title, two other awards were given out: the Centaur Spirit Award and the Audience Favorite Award. Malaysia’s Katoon Network was awarded the Centaur Spirit Award for demonstrating the most heart and passion in their performance while Singapore’s Radikal Forze took home the Audience Favorite Award which was based entirely on fans' votes through Facebook and SMS.

Presented by Rémy Martin, this dance competition aims to showcase the passion, talent and ingenuity of dancers from across six countries – Singapore, Malaysia, India, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Since August last year, Rémy Martin has been staging high-profile competitions in the region in search of the most outstanding dance crews to represent their countries in the final showdown at Marina Bay Sands.

Don't Lose it All, Time to get Data with Celcom XPAX (3)

Don't Lose it All, Time to get Data with Celcom XPAX

Long distance relationships take a lot of strength and courage because sometimes it can get harder and HARDER. It’s when you suddenly lose touch that you feel as though your world is going to crumble apart! In Amy & Nick’s case, Nick hasn’t replied in so long and Amy has become so depressed. But wait – now we know what really happened, is Nick okay though?

Nick was about to buy a ring when suddenly a tragedy happened! He was courageous enough to help the poor lady but did he get hurt? If only Amy knew what exactly went on but what could she have done if she knew Nick was hurt?

Without knowing all this, Amy seems to have given up on waiting for Nick’s reply. She seems to be very comfortable with Joe now. Do you think Joe is taking advantage of this situation? What do you think Joe would do if he found out Nick was in trouble?

Most importantly, in the case of Amy & Nick’s relationship, it shows that they unfortunately lost touch without data. That’s why it’s always important to fuel up on data or you might just risk losing it all. After all, everything is on the internet now and it costs almost nothing at all. Just as long as you have data, it makes managing relationships so much simpler so dial *128# to sign up for any pack to have it all.

Honestly speaking, data nowadays play a really huge part in everyone's life. With data on your phone, it could really literally confine the gap that we have be it distance or timezone.

As for me, I am in a Long Distance Relationship for a while. Honestly speaking, without data, it will be really hard for me and my girlfriend to maintain such relationship.

Sometimes, she will go like, "Data spoils the whole idea of Long Distance Relationship!"....We can just use data to FaceTime, Viber, or even Whatsapp each every now and then! it seems like there's no distance anymore in between us!

Really, with Data from XPAX, it really close the distance for every single human in any part of the world!

 Data FTW!

Don't Lose it All, Time to get Data with Celcom XPAX (2)

Don't Lose it All, Time to get Data with Celcom XPAX

Amy has been facing her frustrations badly because Nick hasn’t been replying. These are obviously the consequences of being in a long distance relationship – but of course they’re both aware of that. However, in this day of age, we have DATA – so where did they go wrong? Now that Nick has been away for sometime, is Amy moving on? But whose ring is that?

What's your say?

Data with Celcom XPAX bridge the distance in a relationship
No doubt!

Al Dente Trattoria @ Esplanade, Singapore

Al Dente at Colours By The Bay, Esplanade

Italians have long been envied for their good looks, art and culture, and of course their cuisine. Al Dente at Colours By The Bay, Esplanade, is the prefect example of what it means to be Italian. The restaurant oozes style and taste. Dark green and beige predominate to create a look of contemporary elegance, enhanced by modern furnishings and soft lighting. Sketches by Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli-inspired paintings lend a touch of romance, adding to the total look and feel of Al Dente. The restaurant is spread over two levels and offers diners an uninterrupted view of the waterfront. Al Dente is definitely the place to be when making an impression matters.

One of their best dessert, Tiramisu

Al Dente is owned by Creative Eateries. The first Al Dente Italian restaurant opened at Boat Quay, followed soon after by a second restaurant at Lorong Mambong, Holland Village. Al Dente is looking to attract working adults and tourists at its newest restaurant at Esplanade.

Perfect place to have a dinner at night with Singapore's Skyline

Prices have been deliberately kept "friendly", says Anthony Wong, CEO of Creative Eateries. A three-course meal would average about $70, while wine prices start from under $40.

Anthony has extensive experience in the Food and Beverage business. He started his career in the industry by working in the F&B department of international chain hotels. In 1992, he opened his first restaurant. To date, Creative Eateries operates Al Dente, Hot Stones, Patara Fine Thai Cuisine and Intermezzo.

The food served is authentic Italian, right down to its wood-fired pizzas for that special aroma. Al Dente offers no-nonsense pizzas that come generously laden with a wide choice of toppings. Its Hawaiian pizza has a popular following, and comes topped with chunks of pineapple and bacon instead of the usual chopped ham. Besides pizzas, Al Dente also offers a wide choice of pastas to thrill pasta lovers, including its ever-popular Salmone and Spaghetti Arragosta. For a sweet ending, Al Dente tempts with its rich Tiramisu, Gelato and fine Italian Cappucino. Its wine list features close to 40 labels from Italy, Australia and the United States. The wines are categorised according to their strength, from light to full-bodied.

Jack's Place, Singapore

Jack's Place

It all started when Mr. Say Lip Hai arrived in Singapore from Hainan island and started as a cookboy with the British troops in Sembawang learning how to prepare the perfect roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. After learning the skills, he started his first restaurant, which was called Cola Restaurant and Bar in 1967. The restaurant served the British and Commonwealth troops and their families residing in Sembawang neighborhood.
Mr. Say Lip Hai's break came in 1969 when a British housewife tasted the steak prepared by him and suggested that he start a catering business in her husband's pub in Killiney Road. Her husband's name was Jack Hunt. Mr. Say agreed with the condition that he take over the whole kitchen operation leading to the birth of the famous Jack's Place Steak House. Jack Hunt sold the business to Mr. Say in 1972 and relocated back to England.
Today, the company is led by an aggressive management team, comprising of 2nd and 3rd generation family members and professional managers.
With such team, they no doubt deliver one of the best western food in town as below...
